We're really pleased to share some exciting news, Cintra has partnered with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).
If you're not already familiar with them, the RNLI is a charity dedicated to saving lives at sea. Since their founding in 1824, they've rescued approximately 146,700 people. An actuarial report even calculated that over 4 million people alive today owe their lives to the RNLI's work. That's an extraordinary number.
Their operation runs around the clock, supported by more than 9,000 volunteers across 238 lifeboat stations and 240 lifeguarding units. In 2025 alone, they helped over 8,000 people and saved 272 lives across the UK and Ireland. Closer to home, their Tynemouth station holds a special place in that history, it's their oldest surviving location, opening in the same year the RNLI was founded, over 200 years ago. They've since grown their presence across the Northeast, with stations in Cullercoats, Sunderland, Blyth, and Amble.
As part of this partnership, we've donated £30,000 to the RNLI to support their life-saving mission. We'll also be donating £250 on behalf of every Employee of the Month winner here at Cintra, alongside an equal donation to a charity of the winner's choosing.
The RNLI are also a Cintra client, and like so many charities, they rely entirely on donations to keep their work going. We'd like to say a huge thank you—for their continued trust in us, and for the incredible dedication of their volunteers and staff who give so much to keep people safe.
Join the RNLI's free water safety webinars
As summer approaches and many of us head to the beach with family and friends, the RNLI are running a series of free 30-minute Water Safety Webinars over the coming weeks.
In each session, you'll learn the lifesaving Float to Live survival technique, along with practical advice to help keep you and your loved ones safe around water this summer. As an added bonus, attendees will also be in with a chance to win a trip to the RNLI College in Poole.
Whether you're planning seaside days out, paddleboarding adventures, or simply spending more time near water over the warmer months, it's a great opportunity to pick up some genuinely useful skills from the people who know this best.
