Employee of the Month Recap
At Cintra, our Employee of the Month programme is about more than recognising great work, it's also a chance to give back. Each winner receives £500 to donate to a charity of their choice (plus a £200 bonus for themselves). Looking back over the last financial year, our winners have supported a brilliant range of causes, from neonatal care and cancer support to animal welfare and international aid. Here's a look at who won, and the organisations they chose to support.
April 2025 — Abdel Abdelaal, Data and Systems Analyst
Abdel kicked off the financial year with a donation to Save the Children UK, one of the country's most well-known international charities. Save the Children works in over 100 countries to protect children's rights, delivering emergency relief, healthcare, education, and nutrition to those who need it most. In the UK, they also work to tackle child poverty and inequality closer to home.
May 2025 — Ashleigh Elliott, HR Coordinator
Ashleigh chose to support Marie Curie UK, a charity that provides nursing care and support to people living with terminal illness and their families. Marie Curie nurses work both in people's homes and across their hospices throughout the UK, helping patients live as comfortably as possible.
June 2025 — Ellie Lay, Processing Services Administrator

Ellie decided to split her donation between two causes. Half went to Alzheimer's Research UK, the leading dementia research charity in Britain, and the other half to Newcastle Cat and Dog Shelter, a firm favourite among Cintra employees, as you'll see.
September 2025 — Michaela Robinson, Commercial Account Executive
One of three winners in September, Michaela chose to support the British Hedgehog Preservation Society (BHPS), a registered charity founded in 1982 and dedicated to protecting hedgehogs native to the UK. Through campaigns, advocacy, and educational projects, the BHPS works to raise awareness of the practical steps people can take to help reverse the decline of hedgehogs in the wild. They also fund research and offer advice to members of the public who find hedgehogs injured or in need of help.
September 2025 — Katey Seward, Payroll Administrator
Katey spread her donation across two animal welfare charities in the North East. The first was Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter, who care for lost, unwanted, and abandoned animals with the aim of finding them loving new homes. The second was Bryson's Animal Shelter; a small, independent rescue and rehoming centre based in Gateshead that has been caring for stray and abandoned animals since 1947.
September 2025 — Amy Newman, Global Product Owner
Amy chose to support HorseWorld Trust, a Bristol-based charity that has been rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming horses, ponies, and donkeys since 1952. What makes HorseWorld particularly special is their Discovery programme, which brings together rescued equines and vulnerable young people experiencing social, emotional, mental health, or learning needs. The relationships formed through the programme help to build confidence, wellbeing, and life skills in a really meaningful way.
October 2025 — Dominic Bullerwell, Executive Consultant
Dominic donated to St Clare's Hospice, a charity providing specialist palliative care to people living with life-limiting illnesses and their families. Like all hospices, St Clare's provides free care and support; whether in the hospice itself or in patients' own homes, helping people spend as much time as possible with those they love.
November 2025 — Rachel Rochester, Support Consultant
Rachel was named one of our November employees of the month in recognition of her hard work and dedication as a crucial member of our support team. A thoroughly deserved win, congratulations, Rachel.
November 2025 — Tom Owen, Head of Partnerships
Tom chose to support grassroots football in his community, donating to his local junior football organisation, one that both of his children play for. The money will go towards kit and equipment, helping get more kids into the game.
December 2025 — Callum Beckwith, Capture Expense Senior Developer
Callum chose to support Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan provides medical, emotional, practical, and financial support to people living with cancer, as well as to their families and carers. From specialist nurses and helplines to financial guidance and online communities, they're there for people at every stage.
January 2026 — Sarah Hart, Sales Coordinator
Sarah supported the Fox Angels Foundation, a small, volunteer-run charity dedicated to helping foxes in need across the UK. The foundation rescues and rehabilitates injured and unwell foxes, provides a sanctuary for those that can't be released back into the wild, and works to raise awareness of fox welfare and ecology among the public.
February 2026 — Nik Brooks, Director of Payroll
Nik donated to the Tiny Lives Trust, a Newcastle-based charity that's close to many hearts in the North East. Tiny Lives supports premature and sick newborn babies and their families at the Newcastle Neonatal Service at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. Each year, the charity supports over 800 babies and their families—providing practical and emotional help ranging from family accommodation to developmental care, specialist equipment, and video messaging services.
March 2026 — Alex Reid, Account Manager
Alex rounded out the year with another donation to Newcastle Cat and Dog Shelter, making this the third time one of our winners has chosen this much-loved local institution. For more than 125 years, the shelter has offered a safe haven for animals in need across the North East, helping thousands of lost, unwanted, and abandoned animals find loving new homes every year.
