Product Development Update: Innovation and Delivery Across Q1 and Q2

The first half of the financial ear has been a highly productive period for the Product and Development teams, with several major milestones achieved across Cintra Cloud, Cintra People, and our wider product portfolio. These developments reflect our continued focus on enhancing functionality, improving user experience, and strengthening compliance and automation for our clients.

BACS Project Launch

Key enhancements include:

  • Email notifications for auto-authorised liability payments and reminders for pending authorisations
  • Ability for bureau teams to mark payments as paid by the client and reverse that status when required
  • Indicators for cancelled payments within submission batches
  • Display of international payment values (automatically excluded from BACS submissions)
  • Controls preventing bureau managers from switching off BACS submissions when future payment files have already been processed

This project represents a significant improvement to workflow visibility, payment assurance, and overall system resilience.

Payroll Functionality Expansion

A further key enhancement was unlocking Cintra People payroll functionality for bureau users when payroll is submitted by clients. This change means that bureau clients and the OSS team can continue to benefit from full payroll functionality during the approval process, while maintaining appropriate system locks once payrolls are fully approved.

This update has already improved efficiency and reduced bottlenecks across both client and internal payroll teams.

Enhanced Security: App-Based MFA

Security remains a top priority across all platforms. The team is currently testing a new app-based multi-factor authentication (MFA) solution, due for rollout imminently. This will strengthen user account security while providing a more seamless login experience for clients and internal users alike.

Multiple Payroll Reporting

A key innovation currently in the go-to-market phase is Multiple Payroll Reporting for Cintra Cloud. This feature enables users to analyse and compare data across multiple payroll periods simultaneously, eliminating the need to manually combine reports or export data into spreadsheets.

Users will now be able to:

  • Compare payroll periods side by side

  • Identify trends, seasonal patterns, and anomalies

  • Perform variance analysis across quarters or years

This upgrade enhances business intelligence, provides competitive parity with leading payroll platforms, and lays the foundation for advanced analytics within Cintra Cloud.

Auto-Enrolment Letters

Another key development is the new Auto-Enrolment (AE) Letters feature, built to automate pension communication for clients. Employers are required to distribute AE letters to employees, and the current manual process has been time-consuming and prone to error.

This enhancement delivers:

  • One-click publishing of AE letters directly through Cintra Cloud

  • Secure, instant employee access via the Employee Hub

  • Automated email alerts for new letters

  • Proof of delivery for compliance and audit purposes

By automating this process, we are simplifying compliance, reducing administrative burden, and giving employees clear, secure access to their pension information.

Coming Next: NEST API Integration

Looking ahead, the next major release will introduce NEST API integrationdesigned to automate pension submissions directly from Cintra Cloud. This will further reduce manual intervention, speed up pension processing, and support data security across all client payrolls.

These achievements highlight how the team is working hard to make our products more efficient, user-friendly, and reliable for clients. There’s plenty more to come, with further updates and new features planned for the months ahead.
